KTM To Launch Made-In-India 250 And 390 Dukes In the US

KTM, the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer, is planning to launch its made-in-India 250 and 390 Dukes in the US market in 2024. The company has announced two small-displacement naked-bike models that will offer more punching power, improved handling, and clear differentiation of attitude between the displacements.

The 250 Duke and 390 Duke: What’s New?

The 250 Duke and 390 Duke are based on the same platform, but have different engines, features, and styling. The 250 Duke is powered by a 249.07 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that produces 30.57 bhp at 9,250 rpm and 25 Nm of torque at 7,250 rpm. The 390 Duke has a 398.63 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, DOHC engine that churns out 45.3 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 39 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Both bikes have a six-speed manual transmission with assist and slipper clutch.

Some of the new features that the 250 Duke and 390 Duke will offer are:

– LED headlight and tail light
– TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity
– Ride-by-wire throttle
– Three riding modes: Street, Rain, and Track
– Switchable ABS with Supermoto mode
– WP Apex suspension with adjustable front and rear damping
– Four-piston front and two-piston rear brake calipers with 320 mm front and 240 mm rear disc brakes
– Tubeless radial tyres with 110/70-17 front and 150/60-17 rear sizes
– Split seat with 800 mm seat height
– 15-litre fuel tank capacity
– BS6 Phase 2 emission standard compliance

The 250 Duke and 390 Duke also have different body graphics and colours to distinguish them. The 250 Duke is available in two colours: Orange and Black, while the 390 Duke comes in two colours: White and Grey.

The 250 Duke and 390 Duke: How Much Will They Cost?


The 250 Duke and 390 Duke are already available in India, where they are manufactured by Bajaj Auto, KTM’s partner. The 250 Duke is priced at Rs 2,39,000 (ex-showroom, New Delhi), while the 390 Duke is priced at Rs 3,10,520 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). In the US, the prices are expected to be around $3,500 for the 250 Duke and $5,500 for the 390 Duke.

The 250 Duke and 390 Duke will compete with other small-displacement naked bikes in the US market, such as the Honda CB300R, the Kawasaki Z400, the Yamaha MT-03, and the Suzuki GSX-S300.

The 250 Duke and 390 Duke: When Will They Launch?


KTM has not revealed the exact launch date of the 250 Duke and 390 Duke in the US, but it is expected to be in the first half of 2024. The company has already opened bookings for the third-generation models in India for a token amount of Rs 4,499. The US customers can also register their interest on the official KTM website.

The 250 Duke and 390 Duke are part of KTM’s strategy to expand its presence in the global market, especially in the emerging and developing regions. The company aims to offer affordable, high-performance, and versatile motorcycles that cater to different segments and preferences of riders.
