The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the last date for online registration for JEE Main 2024 Session 1 exam. Candidates who have not yet applied for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2024 can now fill out the application form by November 30, 2023. The earlier deadline was November 10, 2023. The NTA has also added Abu Dhabi as a new exam center for JEE Main 2024.

How to apply for JEE Main 2024?

The candidates who are interested and eligible for JEE Main 2024 can follow the steps given below to apply online:

  • Visit the official website of JEE Main 2024: jee main.nta.ac.in
  • Click on the link that says “Apply for JEE (Main) 2024”
  • Register yourself by providing your details, such as name, date of birth, email ID, mobile number, etc.
  • Login with your application number and password
  • Fill out the application form with your academic details, exam preferences, category, etc.
  • Upload the scanned images of your photograph, signature, and other documents as per the specifications
  • Pay the application fee through online mode using debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI, or Paytm
  • Submit the application form and take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference

JEE Main 2024 Exam Dates

The NTA has announced the exam dates of JEE Main 2024 Session 1 and Session 2. The JEE Main 2024 Session 1 exam will be conducted from January 24 to February 1, 2024. The JEE Main 2024 Session 2 exam will be conducted from April 1 to 15, 2024. The candidates can choose to appear in one or both sessions of JEE Main 2024.

JEE Main 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who wish to apply for JEE Main 2024 must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • The candidates must have passed or appeared in class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in 2022 or 2023
  • The candidates must have secured at least 75% marks in aggregate or be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards in the qualifying examination (65% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates)
  • The candidates must have a valid Aadhaar number or any other government-issued identity proof
  • There is no age limit for JEE Main 2024

JEE Main 2024 Exam Pattern

The JEE Main 2024 exam will consist of two papers: Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech. and Paper 2 for B.Arch./B.Plan. The candidates can opt for either or both papers as per their choice. The exam pattern of JEE Main 2024 is as follows:

  • The exam will be conducted in computer-based mode (except for the drawing section of Paper 2)
  • The exam will have multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and numerical answer type (NAT) questions
  • The exam will have three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
  • The exam will have a total of 90 questions, out of which the candidates have to attempt 75 questions
  • The exam will have a total of 300 marks, with each question carrying 4 marks
  • The exam will have a negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer
  • The exam will have a duration of 3 hours (4 hours for PwD candidates)

The syllabus of JEE Main 2024 is based on the topics covered in the class 11 and 12 curriculum of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The candidates are advised to refer to the official website of JEE Main 2024 for the detailed syllabus and the list of deleted topics.
