Sam Bahadur Movie Review:

The film covers four decades of Sam Manekshaw’s career in the Indian Army, from his participation in World War II to his role as the chief of the army staff during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War, which resulted in the creation of Bangladesh.

The film also explores his personal life, his relationship with his wife Silloo (Sanya Malhotra), his friendship with Prime Minister Indira Gandhi (Fatima Sana Shaikh), and his clashes with political leaders and bureaucrats.

The film is not a hagiography, but a balanced and nuanced depiction of a complex and charismatic personality. The film does not shy away from showing his flaws, his mistakes, his controversies, and his challenges.

The film also does not glorify war but shows the harsh realities and human costs of it. The film is a tribute to the courage, wisdom, integrity, and patriotism of Sam Manekshaw, who is rightly called Sam Bahadur, or Sam the Brave.
