Mahindra XUV300 Facelift: What to Expect from the Upcoming SUV

Mahindra is one of the leading players in the sub-4-meter SUV segment in India, with its popular models such as XUV300, XUV500, and XUV700. The company has been offering a range of features and options to cater to the diverse needs and preferences of its customers.

However, the competition in this segment is getting tougher, with new entrants like Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza launching their facelifted versions soon.

To stay ahead of the game, Mahindra is working on a major overhaul for its best-selling SUV, the XUV300. The company has already revealed some details about the upcoming facelifted model, which will be launched by February 2024. Here are some of the key features and changes that we can expect from the Mahindra XUV300 facelift.

Design Updates

The Mahindra XUV300 facelift will get a complete redesign on both the exterior and interior aspects. The test mule spotted recently shows that the new model will borrow several styling cues from Mahindra’s upcoming electric SUV concept, BE05 Electric. Some of these cues include:

  • A sleeker and more prominent front fascia with a larger grille and C-shaped LED DRLs.
  • A redesigned bumper with fog lamps and skid plates.
  • New alloy wheels with a different design.
  • New C-shaped LED tail lights with a connected strip.
  • A new roof spoiler and a redesigned boot lid.
  • A muscular rear profile with a dual-tone finish.

The interior of the new model will also get a major refresh with a freestanding larger touchscreen infotainment system. The dashboard design will remain similar to the current model, but it will have ambient lighting and new upholstery options. The steering unit will also get a digital display. Some of the premium features that could be introduced are:

  • A panoramic sunroof
  • Ventilated front seats
  • Wireless phone charger
  • 360-degree surround view camera
  • AdrenoX UI with OTA updates

Engine Options

The Mahindra XUV300 facelift will continue to offer three engine options: a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit (110PS/200Nm), a 1.5-litre diesel engine (117PS/300Nm), and a 1.2-litre T-GDi (turbo-petrol) engine (130PS/ up to 250Nm).

All engines will be mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or an optional AMT gearbox for the petrol variants. The diesel and T-GDi variants could also get an automatic transmission option in addition to the manual one.

The performance fiures of these engines are expected to remain unchanged from the current model. However, some minor tweaks could be done to improve fuel efficiency and emissions.

Safety Features

The Mahindra XUV300 facelift will retain most of its safety features from the current model, such as:

  • Six airbags
  • ABS with EBD
  • Electronic stability control (ESC)
  • Rearview camera
  • Rear parking sensors
  • Hill hold control

However, some new safety features could be added as well, such as:

  • Forward collision warning (FCW)
  • Autonomous emergency braking (AEB)
  • Lane keep assist (LKA)
  • Adaptive cruise control (ACC)

Price Expectations

The Mahindra XUV300 facelift is expected to be priced slightly higher than the current model due to its cosmetic changes and new features. The expected price range for this model is Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.

This would make it more expensive than its rivals like Tata Nexon Altroz AMT Edition Plus (Rs 8 lakh), Hyundai Venue Elite Plus (Rs 9 lakh), Kia Sonet SX+ (Rs 10 lakh), and Maruti Suzuki Brezza GLXi Plus (Rs 9 lakh).

Conclusion

The Mahindra XUV300 facelift is likely to be one of the most awaited updates for this sub-segment in India. It will offer a fresh look, improved performance, enhanced features, and better safety for its customers.

It will also compete more effectively with its rivals who are launching their own facelifted versions soon. The Mahindra XUV300 facelift is expected to hit the market by February 2024.
